Hey everyone !

One more week till Toronto ! It's getting so exciting ! And the past few weeks have been so busy , so here's just some recent news from those past few weeks.

Rollie's Wharph has been so generous by letting us do so many different fundraisers there for Free The Children and to help send me to Toronto. We've mainly been having celidhs with local artists to help raise those funds.

Also, my belly dance teacher Dana Bennette let my mom and I invite some friends up for a belly dance party at the studio. It was great fun , and we learned a new dance routine to Shakira.

Over all , it has so far been a fantastic experience and I'm excited for the next 2 weeks to come ! :)

Wow ,

I'm in total shock today . I just realised that as of today , we have lived here , in BEAUTIFUL Cape Breton Island for exactly one year.

I have gotten into many different things such as Maritime fiddling and Cape Breton style step dancing . Although they are very different styles from what I was into , I do like the change.

I remember every summer looking forward to dance and fiddle competitions and seeing all my friends, and of course the greatest dance and fiddle competition, Fiddle Fest, in Pembroke, Ontario (http://bright-ideas-software.com/PembrokeFiddle/). I'm very excited for the next time I will be able to compete in this competition because it will be great to see everyone again !

Recently we were given a really cool blog assignment, and after much thinking, and browsing the sponsor’s websites, here’s my idea!

Kimberly’s Corner: “Fiddling around with Fashion, Fitness, and Friends”. 

I have always been fascinated by talk shows. Everyday there’s always something new, whether it be interesting people such as celebrities, designers, Olympic athletes, or talented musicians. Kimberly’s Corner is all about this but with a twist. I will interview well known fitness experts, designers, athletes and musicians and have them talk about their accomplishments and what their status means to them.

  Here are my selected sponsors and what major roles they could play in “Kimberly’s Corner”.

The Yorkville Club (http://www.theyorkvilleclub.com/) would play a major role in my show as the location of filming. The uptown Toronto location is fresh and very eye catching, making The Yorkville Club an ideal place for the show and promoting physical fitness to the viewers.

Advertising is an important way to inform viewers about your show and have them tune into it. FAZE Magazine (http://www.fazeteen.com/) is perfect for this.  By having FAZE run an initial article about the show would make teens around the country aware of the show.

And last but not least, every talk show host needs to be looking great at all times. That’s why I have chosen John Freida’s (http://www.fredas.com/) as our clothing sponsor. Freda’s clothing is beautiful, and has a very unique style to it. 

What about the twist? At the end of each show we will showcase a young and upcoming Canadian band, designer or athlete that has submitted a small article about them to us, in the hopes to expose their talents to many Canadians. By doing this, we can really show that Canada has many young and talented people.

I had an extreamly great (but very busy) weekend.

Saturday morning , I was at the Mayflower Mall with Tasha Lee from Cape Breton's Hit Music Station , 101.9 The Giant.

We had a great time and I was on The Giant twice that day . After leaving the mall , I went to Rollie's Wharph for the celidh being held by Jerry Holland Jr. I met lots of great people , and had a really good time dancing .

Saturday night , my two closest friends , Breigha and Alexandra came over for the night . We went hot tubbing ,and had a bon fire.

This past weekend was great and I can't wait for next weekend to come !

Also , a HUGE thank you to Samuel and Co. for sponsoring me by giving me my gown. It was greatly appreciated !

Hey everyone !

I've got a pretty busy weekend ahead , but I'm very excited.

Saturday from 10am till 1pm , I will be at the Mayflower Mall in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I will be doing a bit of a fundraiser for the Free The Children charitey, as well as I will be doing interviews with Cape Breton's hit music station, 101.9 The Giant. ( http://www.giant1019.com/ ) 

From 2pm till 5pm I will be at a celidh at Rollie's Wharph ( http://www.bartown.biz/webpages/rollies.htm ) in North Sydney. Jerry Holland Jr. is running the celidh and I will also be raising money for the Free The Children charitey here. I'm very excited because I do go to Rollie's when I can on the usual Thursday celidhs and they are so fun.  The environment is great and it truly displays true Cape Breton Heritage .

I'll be posting some pictures up as soon as I can of the mall and Rollie's !
